At the end of February, our good friends from SF, Nate and Jess, came to visit Australia. They started in Brisbane and ended their trip with four days in Sydney. We had such a good time with them tooling around the city, doing a few touristy things and just hanging out. We miss them already!!
As soon as they got here, we scooped them up and took them to the Opera Bar for drinks with views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

We walked from the bar through the Botanical Gardens to see the bats. One can't come to Sydney without going to see the bats. They are enormous! We then took them to dinner at Ms. G's, one of Ryan's favs. I think that we ate too much, including this ridonk dessert with candied bacon!
The next day, I took them to the famous Bondi Beach. We ate lunch at the RSL above Bondi Icebergs. It has the same views but is a casual dining experience.

We then trekked to North Bondi to visit the RSL there. For those of you who aren't familiar, RSL stands for "Returned and Services League". Basically, if you live outside of 5km of the establishment, you can enter for free.
This particular one did not allow singlets (tank tops) for men, so they had Nate don this awesome shirt!

On our way back to "the hood" we walked through Hyde Park. Another beautiful city park that separates downtown from the other neighborhoods.
We decided to have a barbecue at home so Nate prepared a "beer butt chicken".
As you can see, it all turned out so perfectly well. And it was pretty much the most delicious chicken that I have ever tasted! Hats off to the chef!
A bunch of our friends stopped by later in the night and we played a rowdy game of LCR. Who was the winner? None other than ZAC!!
Dangerous
Thankfully we all had a great sleep and were up and about to head to Manly for the day. Here's the crew at the ferry terminal.

We walked away from the busy part of the beach to Shelly Beach, just a quick stroll from the main area. We lazed in the sun and snorkeled all day.

That night we met up with Linda and Brian and had dinner at our fav spot, Toko. We definitely ate up a storm as a send off to Nate and Jess.
