As most of you know, we generally like to pimp out our place as best we can. Our new addition to the house is a custom dart board for our backyard. It has provided us with an extra dose of F-U-N to our rocking BBQs.
How the dartboard began...well, it started with an excruciating 3ish hour trip to Bunnings (equivalent of a Home Depot) where I had to help Ryan test the softness of different types of wood. We then had to get the wood cut, butit started to pour cats and dogs so we aborted the mission. Ryan then went back to Bunnings after further planning (i.e. sketching out a cardboard template), picked up the materials and started his project. Exhibit A: Ryan and Eric with the backboard.
I unfortunately did not document the construction of the board, but it involved cutting the soft wood into four pieces. Then attaching it to the wood backing, cutting a hole for the actual dartboard then putting all of the pieces together with hooks to attach it to our wall.
NOTE: this board hangs at regulation height. We don't fool around with this kind of stuff!
It again, began to rain on our parade, but that did not stop us from throwing a kicking BBQ. Here's Ryan climbing our tree to tie up a tarp for all of us to chill out under.
The fruits of our labor...DINNER!
My project the next day...create an herb garden. Too bad it rained for two weeks straight right after the planting. The herbs are still surviving but are going to need further care before they can be used!
